With the rapid growth in the collecting of fine art, antiques
and collectables over the last few years, we have seen a dramatic
change in the attitude of UK insurance companies towards these
collections and many refuse to offer the appropriate cover. To
meet this growing demand, we specifically designed Art-Insure to
deal with the intricacies of this specialised market, and our contract
is now the UK’s leading purpose-built insurance scheme for
fine art, antiques, sculptures and collectables.
Most standard policies
lack sufficient flexibility and width of cover, therefore we have
access to Underwriters who understand these needs and who are prepared
to offer imaginative solutions. Furthermore our experience in this
area of the market enables us to provide guidance on the correct
level of cover required and where appropriate to arrange surveys
and valuations. This enables us to tailor cover to your individual
needs and lifestyle but above all, to provide "peace of mind" with
the minimum of formalities.

Peace of Mind
Rest assured, we use a selection of the finest insures in the UK,
specialising in the insurance needs of today's collector. We
can offer a choice of either a separate "Fine Art" policy
or a total package that incorporates all of your home contents
and buildings whilst absorbing your Fine Art however large or
small the collection.
Loss In Value
Unlike traditional insurances, our policies provide "loss
in value" cover on all of your paintings and sculptures which
will ensure that you will be compensated for any loss in market
value suffered after an item has been repaired. Compare this to
a standard household insurance policy!
Death of the Artist
Another advantage of our policy cover, is that for six months following
the death of an artist (occurring during your policy term), any
items that you may have by the artist would be automatically
increased by up to 100% without charge.
Specifying Your Fine Art
Standard policies will often ask that each item of £1,000
or more is specified and a valuation obtained, which for many collectors
with a large collection would be both time consuming and expensive.
Our policies offer generous limits and very wide cover, which means
that for single items under £5,000 there is no need to specify
it or have a valuation, although of course we would always recommend
a regular valuation as evidence of loss in the event of a claim.
Warranty
Free Cover
A warranty is a condition of a policy that you must adhere to for
a claim to be honoured by the insurer. Fore example, a common
feature of a standard insurance policy is a "security warranty" which
would state that all exit doors and windows would have to be
closed and locked when a theft took place, in order for the claim
to be paid. As you might expect, our insurers do not enforce
such terms, accepting that anyone is capable of leaving a window
slightly open or forgetting to set an alarm and would settle
the claim without question.
